30 Days of Writing Questions – Day 6

6. Where are you most comfortable writing? At what time of day? Computer or good ol’ pen and paper?

Despite the fact I have a room all to myself for writing, I actually prefer to be in my easy chair in the living room with my lap top. However, that’s only if there’s no one else around. If there’s people around, I prefer my office. It’s not that I’m anti-social, I just get easily distracted by people.

I can write pretty much any time, but I get my best writing done either super late at night, or early in the morning. Again, this is when there’s no one around to bug distract me.

Computer or pen and paper? You’ve got to be kidding! Computer all the way, baby. Aside from the fact my handwriting is hard to interpret (go here if you want to see a sample) I can’t write nearly as fast as my thoughts come. I love my lap top. It’s my Precious. I do tend to make hand written notes when I’m doing line edits, but that’s usually when I’m working with a hard copy.

I hear you on the distractions. I'm always amazed by people who can tune things out! Wish it were so easy for me. :)

There are times when even the sound of the fountain in the living room is so distracting I need to escape to my office. :-)
